Travel to Daniel Boone National Forest

We had our first sick child - Jeff had an ear infection, so when we returned the rental car we stopped by and got him some antibiotics. He's not much of a complainer, so it went well.

Bill has discovered some failings in the english language and it fits HERE, both chronologically and geographically.

Parked at Cumberland Falls State Resort Park
We encountered a bit of a storm on the road - our first real wind buffeting and heavy rain. It was exciting. We found a pretty cool campground above the Cumberland Falls, on the Cumberland River, in the Cumberland Falls State Resort Park.
We have noticed two idiomatic themes:

1) Place names must include multiple geographic features in their names (Nolin River Lake; Barren River Lake Park Beach)

2) Everything locally has the word 'Cumberland' associated with it. There is a trend starting away from this (From Cumberland Parkway to Edward B. Nunn Parkway) -- but it doesn't seem to be catching on.

Patti Sue was busy with the maps (see the earlier sidebar) so we didn't get many pictures this day.
Jeff and Joe found a group of kids to play with here and are having a blast. Mandy has begun to notice that there aren't a lot of kids her age around these campgrounds....
